I was/am thrilled by the "Aha-s", and awed by the "Look-Out nows", that I have encountered, while losing and finding myself, again and again, in the Wisdom and Common Struggle of Our Elders and Peers contained within the pages of this valuable, and soon to be "familiar", compilation.

It is truly a Blessing to have these "Truths" collected in this Gift of a "commonplace book".

I never picked up this book without having a highlighter close at hand. I always intended to read just a page or two--it's just a collection of quotes, after all!--but usually found myself unwilling to put it down. I refer back to it often now, sometimes to refresh my mind on a certain phrase, sometimes at random. Well worth a permanent place in your home library!

Unlike many books in the self help genre this is not touchy feely and doesn't tie itself (and the reader) in knots in an attempt at appearing to be more than it is, rather it gives the reader a venue for self expression and realization. Allowing those who chose to incite change within themselves to do it well and with purpose.

I have read this book and I believe it has the capacity to change a great deal of lives. It is simple and carries the truth.

I have read this every year for the past five years and love it. Mr. Jackson tell it like it is. He makes you smile and laugh. He makes you cry and scream. He starts with childhood and growing up in a big family and end right before "Bad" came out. He shares lessons he has learned and things he has gone through. This is a very personal book. He doesn't just write, he makes us feel as if we were there with him. Everyone should read this.

This book was such a great read! Any MJ fan can assure you that this is all truth and no bull since you hear it from the man himself. You find out about his personal life, his beginnings, his relationship with children and his severe loneliness. I definetly recommend this to everyone!

Michael Jackson is a legend. His music is the best, his videos are the best, all of him is the best. And, of course, his book is the best. A great biography his, and by his own words. Great.

I brought this book back from England in the late '80 and it has been the envy of many of my American calligraphy friends ever since. How wonderful that it is now back in print, available and reasonably priced. An inspiration for the beginner but most especially for those who have some background or ambition in this art. The contributors themselves constitute a "Who's Who"
of the late 20th century British calligraphy world. A must have, you will love owning this book for the rest of your life. No regrets!

You HAVE TO read this book! Irene Wellington's works are delightful to look at. Her letters and drawings have a vitality that is sensed even in reproductions. Unlike many books on scribes, calligraphy etc, this publication is a reliable volume; editors of the book are prestigious professionals and this book can make all the difference in the education of any scribe. It is a lasting book, and although I bought this book months ago I find myself going to it constantly. The works are very appealing and refreshing.

I was privileged to live in Jackson for awhile. Being familiar with the territory made it particularly interesting to me. Mr. Horton takes you on a fast paced, interesting journey to an exciting end. Never a dull moment. Couldn't put it down. Ordered a second copy to share. I'm very anxious for his next two books to be released. I'm a fan.

I purchased and read her book, and have found it a springboard for creative thought about myth -- that invisible thread that holds a story together and leaves traces in the reader's mind, long after the details of the plot are forgotten. For those who are using myth intuitively, her book will pump up the imagination. For those whose stories do not have a mythical dimension, her book is a must read.

Chris Jackson does not just theorize. She takes her examples from the classic and bestseller lists: Agatha Christie, Dorothy Sayers, Sue Grafton, Barbara Parker, Patricia Cornwell, Lisa Scottoline, Nancy Cohen and many others. She shows how the stick-to-the-ribs qualities of stories from these authors derive from artistic understanding of things such as mythic time, magic and transformation, search for identity and rites of passage.

And more amazing still, most of the great examples of myth were worked out by the ancient Greeks. It is interesting to learn that what is propelling our best mystery stories today comes from themes that were perfected around campfires during ancient centuries.

Since purchasing Bob Paris' book "Natural Fitness" about 10 weeks ago, I have gone through a lot of changes. I made progress toward my weight loss goal of 35 pounds (25 down, 10 to go) I totally changed my diet, built some muscle, and began to look inside to see the things that were driving me on and off a healthy lifestyle. This is what the book is all about: the whole packsage. Paris makes a point of saying that physical health without corresponding progress in mind, emotions, and spirit is a hollow shell. He also asks the reader to delve into his or her motives for fitness in the first place and see what lurks below the surface. It has been an awesome experience because I have been a "hot and cold" fitness buff forever. Well, I'm 47 now, and the "cold" side could have dire consequences for me, so I bought the book. I am so glad I did. This book has everything a person can need to change from a sedentary lifestyle to an active one. It offers tips on the whole person, food, meals, exercises, routines, etc... and challenges our (my) tendency to look for quick fixes for long term problems. This book is real. It is honest and detailed. It has gotten me so stoked that I'm going to buy Paris' "Flawless", the 10 week phyique transformation manual. I feel I'm ready for that one because "Natural Fitness" has prepared me physically and mentally.

This book focuses on introspection and examining your own goals and reasons for becoming fit. Motivation and a balanced approach toward a maintainable fittness program are stressed. It has a slightly philosophical tone, if you like that kind of thing (which I do). After reading this book and applying some of the ideas, I now bike to work and home (30 mi) 3 times a week, I lift weights 3 times a week, and on weekends ... mountain biking and hiking! I have lost 20 pounds, and I feel better then I have in years.
